Feeling a bit rebellious? So are we. And that's why we'll be doing things a little bit different on Tuesday 9th June 2026 with our inaugural 'The Wrong Swim'. For this one afternoon of the year, we'll be turning a blind eye to one of our most sacred rules - 'always swim in a clockwise direction around our swim course'. But where's the fun in that? On this one and only occasion (well, maybe again next year), we're inviting you to take a swim on the WRONG side of the rules. Let the anarchy begin!

The concept is simple enough. In what we fully expect to be a thoroughly rebellious experience, you'll get to circumnavigate our 750 metre swim course in the opposite direction. The swim will start at the swim slipway but from this point on, things are going to feel very wrong - instead of swimming off in the usual clockwise direction, we'll throw caution to the wind and head off down the swim course in an anti-clockwise direction. It'll feel wrong but oh so right!

So what? You may well ask. Well, things are going to look VERY different on this swim - you'll get to take in and experience the sights and sounds of the lake from a very different perspective. Once you reach the far end of the lake, we invite you to do something else just a little bit rebellious - touch the far wall! We'll be marking the spot to aim for so keep your eyes peeled.

After a thoroughly topsie-turvie swim, we'll be kicking back on the quayside and taking in the beautiful evening Summer sunshine glow across the stillness of the lake. Of course no Summer evening would be complete without a little treat. We'll be serving up a delicious scone with yummy cream and jam accompanied by your choice of a hot mug of tea or coffee. Relax, chat and just take in the Summer evening with your fellow swimmers. Peeerfect.
