Want to build on your skills after doing an Ocean Diver course?

BSAC Sports Diver training builds on the scuba skills you learnt in the Ocean Diver course (or entry level qualification from another agency) and helps develop your confidence, skills and experience in the water to allow you to enjoy a wider range of diving sites and conditions.

The course builds a sound foundation of open water diving skills and experience with structured, practical lessons. This is a good way of getting more dives under your belt while learning under the supervision of a qualified instructor. You'll hone your skills and experience in various areas including rescue skills, surface marker buoys (SMBs) and delayed surface marker buoys (DSMBs), navigation, and complete your Nitrox training.

Qualified BSAC Sports Divers are ready to take part in dives with other Ocean Divers or higher grade divers. Depth can be built progressively to a maximum of 35m after qualfying. Sports Divers can embark on the first stage of the route of instruction. Sports Diver is one of BSAC's most popular course and will truly give you most of the skills that you need for UK diving.

Once qualified, you'll be able to conduct dives:
  • to a maximum depth of 35m
  • with another BSAC Ocean Diver or with a BSAC Sports Diver, within the restrictions of the conditions already encountered during training
  • with a Dive Leader or higher grade, to expand experience beyond the conditions encountered during training, under the supervision of a Dive Manager
  • Plan and conduct dives requiring mandatory decompression stops
  • Rescue a casualty and provide basic life support
  • Use breathing gas mixes up to Nitrox 36

COMPLETE YOUR
BSAC TRAINING WITH US...

Training through a BSAC club offers an effective method of gaining your BSAC dive certifications but it's not for everyone. Whether you've relocated due to a new job or simply prefer the convenience of booking training dates that suit your schedule, we can help.

Whether it's a practical skills development session or simply depth progession dives, our team of professional BSAC instructors can help you to complete your BSAC Ocean Diver or Sports Diver course here at Vobster Quay.

BSAC 'top up' training is available to any diver who has already started their BSAC training through either a BSAC club or another instructor. After a review of your qualification record book (QRB) and diving log book, we can help you to fill in the gaps leading to the successful completion of your BSAC course.

Please note that we only offer BSAC training mid-week. One-to-one training is also available - due to the nature of 'top up' training, please contact us for a price.

Congratulations Fourth Element! Here's a scuba supplier that has spearheaded the role of conservation in diving - we're proud to be stocking their gear and using their thermals as a test centre.
