NEXT COURSE:
The PADI Rescue diver course is a pivotal step in expanding a diver's knowledge and experience. Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves to consider the safety and well-being of other divers.

This course expands the basic problem prevention and accident management skills student divers learnt during their PADI Open Water Course. At Rescue level students are ready to learn to manage more complex dive emergences and to apply direct intervention techniques to assist others in an emergency. By its nature, the course is demanding, through realistic in its conduct, content and approach. Although the nature and context in which rescue training may be used is serious, the course is an enjoyable challenge that builds diver confidence.

The Rescue course involves learning the basic theory of commonly encountered problems and how to prevent and deal with them. This is then built on in water training sessions giving the student foundation skills which they can adapt to their personal differences and needs. Skill development encourages divers to experiment, learning to capitalize on their strengths, recognise their limitations and consider these in emergency situations.

Student divers learn to first think about the options available for handling an emergency and then act using the approach that best suits the situation.

After the student has been taught the basic skills required for rescuing divers they are then faced with scenarios where they demonstrate the skills learnt.

The Vobster Difference

Taking your PADI Rescue Diver course at Vobster Quay is a great way to increase your diving knowledge, skills and confidence.

As a full-time professional diving operation with years of experience behind us, we've put together an unbeatable range of packages with no hidden costs - guaranteed!

EFR & Oxygen Admin - Be a life saver!

In order to qualify as a PADI Rescue Diver, it is neccessary to have undertaken first Aid training including primary & secondary care within the last two years.

We recommend the Emergency First Responder course which can be combined with your Rescue Diver course. The Emergency First Responder course gives you the tools you need to perform CPR and First Aid. Whether you're a diver or a non-diver, Emergency First Responder prepares you to handle potentially life-threatening situations. We also recommend taking an oxygen administration course so that you have the skills to safety and competently handle and emergency oxygen kit.

Pete
Vobster Quay doesn't just puddle jump. After trips to Naples last Autumn and Mull in March, Pete Shaw takes the helm for an early season Cornwall fix. Later this year, we have Plymouth weekender, Normandy wrecks and Malta to make full use of the training gained at Vobster and extend confidence and skills into rewarding diving. Interested in trips or training - get in touch, we have options for everyone. Cheers, Tim
