OPEN WATER SWIMMING - RACING SKILLS & RACE PREP WORKSHOP
This exciting new open water swimming workshop is designed specifically for those preparing for and taking part in open water swimming and multisport events. The workshop assumes some experience of open water swimming and delivers a full range of skills and practices to enhance open water swimming performance.
The workshop introduction covers all aspects of race preparation from selecting event that suits your swimming ability, researching and recceing a swim course to race specific open water swimming training/prep sessions.
- Participants will then get in the water and work through the following skills practically:
- Positioning on the start line
- Race starts, pace control and strategy
- Advanced sighting and navigation
- Drafting and group swimming
- Pace control
- Swim exits into T1 transition
By the end of this workshop swimmers should feel confident that they can effectively prepare and train for an open water swim or multisport event and take part effectively employing the skills learnt and practiced during the workshop.
